    i think you needed two light sources for this, one coming in from the left to lessen or remove the shadows. Some more DOF? Yes and No depends on what you're after. Flwoers of this colour are so hard to photo IMHO. Reds and flowers always give me grief. I like this rendition of the colour.. Were you happy?

    Yes, I'm happy with the shot in general. I don't like using flash, but didn't have a choice on this one. I was battling heavy clouds and a building wind. I think I'll go back and shoot it again if the blooms are still in decent shape and try a bit more DOF. I also wish I'd noticed that little leaf on the bottom left. I hate when you think you've studied the entire field of view and then miss one little thing.

    I called USCIS regardng my I-140 approval notice and I was told that "It normally takes upto 30 days to receive any approval/receipt notices". Hope it helps!

    I am starting this thread for Interview related discussions.

    Here is my question:I live in NY and my attorney is located in CA.I got Interview with Immigration and I want to attend that interview along with my attorney.Is it possible to schedule my Interview in CA where my attorney works/lives? Or is it like we need to attend where USCIS specifies?

    Share your experiances.

    My PD is 2006 under EB-2 category. My family and I filed for GC on the same day. Now, I am planning to file a new I-140 under EB1. My kid is going to be 18 soon. What is the age limit for dependent to file for GC with the parents?

    Why you take lawyer's help for this simple thing. ?
    Almost everybody renewed EAD/AP by themselves.
    EAD/AP filings must go to your I-485 processing center.
    I think, if the lawyer send to wrong center, it will redirect to the correct center, there will be a time delay for this.

    My lawyer sent my wife EAD renewal papers to VSC.

    Our cases at at TSC presently. I asked him to sent it to TSC but he said since the original EAD / AP were approved by VSC the renewal has to also go to VSC.


    I am not sure what is going to happen. I have not seen my cheques cashed nor have received the package back?

    FedEx trackinh number says it was received at VSC on July 10.


    Can anybody shed some light whats going to happen next ?????

    I'm sorry let me re-phrase:

    Is there a RISK to file 2 separate petitions (H4 Extension and H1) in the same time frame?

    If yes, what's the option?

    Should I say to my employer or lawyer (Company 'A') to not to file H4 extension for my wife because of the overlap of time frames?

    Hello All,
    I have couple of questions regarding Travel Document or Advance Parole.

    My EAD has already been filed by my Lawyer but she is charging too much for filing Advance Parole or Travel Document,so here goes my questions.

    - Is there a way to file for Travel Document myself, without involving the lawyer and if yes how can i do that

    - Do I need to wait for my EAD Receipt being sent to me before filing for Travel Document.


    i did this exactly, where my lawyer filed my ead, but i filed my ap myself. all u need is i-485 receipt copy.

    I talked to an attorney and they said its best to file for AC21. i want to file it but am not sure if i should take attorneys help (and pay them) in filing this or just work with the new employer to do it.

    what happens if we don;t file and they later change rules around this, we never know.

    My PD is current for 12 months (from Oct 2007) .

    Today i got reply for my June 2008 service request, saying my back ground check is not cleared :mad:

    I know from Infopass that my NC is cleared long back.:)

    If your PD is not current cant do any thing but PD is current, contact your local congressman.




    Hi All,

    I opened a service request with USCIS when my I485 was current in 09/08 and i got response saying that still investigation into my background remains open, so the case is not yet ready for decision. I filed my I 485 in August 2005 and in july 2007(then my file was current) also i was told that the background check is still going on.

    Now we know that if it has been more than 180 days after we file I485, no need to wait for background check to process the petetion. My intention is to get my file out of this loop by the time PD becomes current. If any one had this issue and got it resolved, please advise me how i can handle it.

    Very Tricky situation.

    I was in the same situation only thing is that for me it was the same employer.

    So.. I assume you can go before June 30th so you can re-enter US if you are in US.

    If you are planning to go to Canada.. You can call the consulate ( that is what i did ) Just a suggestion...

    My 140 got approved and 485 is in pending state.I have my EAD and also valid H1.

    1.Can I add my spouse to my GC status when PD is not current?My spouse is on H1B visa.

    2.If I start using EAD, is it still possible to add spouse or I should maintain valid H1 status?

    Can you please respond back ASAP.Thanks.

    Your spouse can file I-485 only when your PD is current. Until (s)he needs to maintain H1/H4 status.

    I am sure this may have been asked already but I coudn't find a thread.

    I have an approved and valid extension on my H1 but my EAD expired in august and my AP expired last month. I didn't file for an EAD/AP renewal yet because I was not using them and wanted to delay it for a few months and save some money.

    Will there be any problem with a delayed EAD/AP filing ?

    I filed i485 after my i140 approved. But my company was sold to an other company. Till my company didn't file i140 amendment.

    Can i change job after 180 days of filing i485. Even though my amendment is not filed yet.

    what may be the problems.

    I got married recently. Both my husband and I have similar priority dates as labour was filed separately for each of us by our respective companies. Is there any downside to adding each other to our applications and dual filing for greencard?

    Is there any downside to having two applications in each name? Should we do this?

    July�07 filer - H1-B renewal after filing I-485 (12th Year)

    Can I renew H1-B (12th year) after filed 485. Don�t want to use EAD in order to maintain my wife�s H4.

    The AC21 document covers before I-485 filing stage. But not covering after 485 filed and retrogressed situation.

    (4) Exemptions to Limitations of Stay. The limitation on the total period of stay does not apply to H-1B aliens when, as of the date of filing the extension request:
    365 or more days have passed since the filing of any application for labor certification, Forms ETA-750 or ETA-9089, that is required or used by the alien to obtain status as an EB immigrant; and the labor certification, if approved, has not been revoked, is unexpired or has been timely filed with an EB petition within the labor certification�s validity period; or

    365 or more days have passed since the filing of an EB immigrant petition that is still pending; or

    The alien is the beneficiary of an approved EB immigration petition and is not able to file to adjust status to U.S. permanent legal residence based on the unavailability of an immigrant visa number.

    I have filed my I-485 during July 2007 as like many others. My PD is March 2004
    Got married after the filing and still maintaining my H1 and brought my wife on H4.

    I need to renew my H1 as it is getting expired in April. Not able to use EAD as need to maintain my wife�s H4.

    This is my 12th year H1 renewal.

    6 year 2005
    1 year 2006
    1 year 2007
    3 year 2010


    Question - Is H1-B extension rule applicable only for I140 approval/(labor 365 days) or is it allowed even after filing 485? And is it allowed after 11 years for additional 3 years?

    @itsmesabby: No this was my stamping after my first extension. It was cancelld at Kolkata consulate.

    @vban2007: Are you sure that I can do a transfer? Or should a fresh H1B be filed by the new employer?

    It is only missed if it is possible. We were in contact with key senate offices.
    The bill was just too controversial and the appetite to include immigration provisions was just not there. We are stll making last minute efforts. the provisions are in the current CIR version and should be in all versions introduced as far as we know.
